The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) has organized international academic programs for more than 25 years. Our objective is to provide a rigorous academic experience, foster dialogues that cross borders, and create a global network of responsible future leaders.

ILA is a unique program that brings together approximately 50 students from throughout Latin America and the United States to study economics, political theory, and the bases for the rule of law and institutional governance.

Located in Chile - called an "oasis of progress" in South America for its economic growth and political stability - this program allows participants to study the foundations of Chile's progress and to learn about the political and economic necessities of a free society. The classes, conversations, and debates that participants have at ILA will benefit their educational and professional development.

Our comprehensive package includes academic credit through the University of the Andes, a university known throughout the region for its academic excellence and its beautiful campus, as well as housing, most meals, a variety of notable guest lectures, cultural and social events, and opportunities for professional development and networking.

Students who complete ILA graduate into a global network of nearly 17,000 TFAS alumni. You can find TFAS alumni living and working in some of the world’s most exciting cities, including Washington DC, New York, London, Paris, Beirut, Hong Kong, Beijing, Buenos Aires, and Santiago, to name just a few. Graduates of our institutes are able to use this vast network to opens doors that have lead to life changing opportunities in various corners of the world.

Come join us this January for a once in a lifetime opportunity to study in the beautiful Chilean capital of Santiago!

"Truly, ILA changed my life, and gave me a new outlook on how I see the world as a student, and how I will see it as a professional after I graduate. I learned a lot from these great professors, and they have given me tools to be able to actually help those in my country that truly need help." Daniel Sibaja, Mexico
