COVID-19 vs. International student opportunities
In the past few weeks, we’ve received lots of questions related to how to approach international opportunities now during the global COVID-19 pandemic. Let’s keep it short:
- First and foremost, ensure you protect yourself and others by following this advice.
- The active application cycles are happening now for programs that will be held 4–8 months from now. We all hope this virus will be under control soon, so you should definitely continue applying as normal. In other words, you should continue behaving normally when it comes to applying to international programs.
- If you are about to travel abroad for an internship or any other program happening in the next few weeks, you should definitely consult with a program organizer. They will be the best to judge whether there is a reason to cancel the program, and if not, they will be the best to share tips on how to stay safe.
To sum up, our best advice is to keep applying as normal. You’ll also be able to keep practicing your writing and self-presenting skills!
Best of luck, and let’s hope COVID-19 will soon be a thing of the past!
