Every year EF English First helps hundreds of college grads and professionals from all backgrounds see the world and earn money. A gap year is often the perfect way to take some time off before entering the world of work, or even take some time off from work. You can use this time to see the places you have always dreamed about. Meet new people and maybe even learn a new language.

TEACH, TRAVEL AND GET PAID

It’s said that money fills your pocket, but adventure fills your soul. Why not have both? Travelling for an extended period can feel costly, and you don’t want to be stranded abroad with little to nothing in the bank. If you teach, you will be paid a regular salary that will help you to pay for those “once in a lifetime trips”, and make them frequent occurrences. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t taught before, you will get the support and training you need to adjust to classroom life and experience your new country!

WHO CAN I TEACH?

The best part of teaching English is that anyone can be your student! At our kids and teens schools, you could teach kids aged between 3 and 18. Kids and teens classes are known for being fun and high energy. You will have very little time to sit behind a desk and watch the clock. Instead, you’ll play games, set tasks and help them to communicate in English.
 
Are you looking for a slower pace? Teaching English to adults might be up your alley. Adult English teachers, do have fun, but you will find that students like to share more about their culture and discuss topics that are more mature. Our state-of-the-art-adult centres offer a more academic lifestyle reminiscent of college days, with more than a touch of adventure.

While teaching in Indonesia, you could visit the beautiful beaches of Bali, hike up an active volcano, or even see orangutans or the Komodo Dragon in their natural habitats. Russia is home to a vibrant arts scene that would make any culture vulture chop off their right arm to see. No need to chop off your arm though! With EF, you can teach kids and teens or adults in Russia and get to see it all over the course of a year.
