Overview

The ECCEDU IT program has an extremely complex setup. Not only because of its wide portfolio of topics but more importantly because it is the only field where you can easily land a job right at one of our partner companies. Why? This is because Coding languages are truly international and allow you to find opportunities across the globe. Unlike the fields of law or marketing for example, which require an understanding of the local languages. Therefore, with knowledge of coding, you can land a job easily after finishing our programs with ECCEDU companies. You just need to make sure that you have the right set of skills and we will try to help you. Just to give you a glimpse, have a look at last year’s schedule.

Lectures & lecturers

In our program, you will discover the newest approaches in development, current trends, and frameworks, but also practical tips on your own project when it comes to the use of APIs, machine learning, usage of voice, and many more. You will also get practical examples of modern methods of project and product management, learn how to do great open source projects, or how to avoid any legal problems when it comes to copyrights and code-stealing. Part of the course will be also dedicated to your career growth. We will help you to get the right inspiration to become a great engineering leader and give you our tips on how to be more visible within the IT community.

Above all else, you will not learn this for years from people reading about it from books or speaking with other people. You will interact and learn from people facing these issues on a daily basis and having direct and practical insights you cannot get anywhere else! Plus remember, you will not only hear about it during our 3 weeks of workshops but more importantly see it yourself during our one-month guaranteed internship at one of our partner companies.

In general, we would like you to leave our course not just as a developer, but as a full-stack engineer. Someone who will have his opportunities wide open, because you will have a perfect understanding of all angles of this world not from teachers without practical experience, but directly from industry leaders having a finger on the pulse of the IT industry.

ECCEDU lecturers are experienced notables from leading companies, both in the Czech Republic and worldwide.

Internships

Our internships offer the perfect experience to lift students to new heights and bring them closer to their goals.

The internships are 4 - 5 week long work experience sessions arranged at a company of the student’s choice, depending on his/her ranking on the ECCEDU test. Internships are always under the close supervision and guidance of senior company representatives, who look after students, coach them and help them grow - for this reason, each company doesn’t take on more than 1 or 2 students.

Students can choose internships in several international ECCEDU partners located in various European cities, internship opportunities range from the largest international companies to smaller firms with a focused area of expertise. These include Siemens, Blindspot Solutions, Red Hat, Creative Dock, Kiwi, Productboard, STRV, Socialbakers, DNAI, Wrike, and many others.

ECCEDU partner companies supply students with reference letters, to help them be more competitive in the market place or for further education purposes.

ECCEDU Grand Reception

Traditionally, our Global Career Summer Programs open with a welcome gala evening for ECCEDU students.

This event provides an opportunity to meet the inspiring people who contribute to the ECCEDU community and meet other ECCEDU students from the International Business, Law, Architecture & Design and IT programs. Our Grand Reception will take place in mid-July.

The Grand Reception also serves to gather top-level representatives from Czech and foreign companies, politicians, diplomats, and academics.

Entertainment

Our students are offered a wide range of extracurricular activities during the program.

Our staff arranges various team-building events throughout the lecture period. The goal is to engage students in various free-time activities and introduce them to European culture in an entertaining and didactic way. We organize escape games, karaoke sessions, laser games, and barbecues, go sightseeing in Prague and discover traditional products and shop for souvenirs. Trips around the Czech Republic and abroad are also organized: in the past, students have gone to Český Krumlov, Kutná Hora, Vienna, and Berlin.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Is related work experience required?

No, it is not necessary to have experience in the field. In general, you will make the most of the program if you have some background knowledge and have studied your chosen topic before, because you will be able to know more about what you want to learn from us. However, our program will give you a good opportunity to learn new skills and get the experience you do not yet have. If you have any concerns or questions, feel free to contact us at question@eccedu.net.

Is there an English proficiency level requirement?

Yes, fluency in both spoken and written English is very much required for the lectures and internships.

If English is not your mother tongue, you should be able to provide evidence (such as test results) that your spoken and written command of English is sufficient to study and work in English. We also ask all applicants to send us their CVs, and we also arrange an online interview with each applicant before the program starts - this way, we get to know you better and can properly assess whether our program could be a good match for you.
