Overview

To support, inspire and accelerate success among entrepreneurs from Black Heritage backgrounds, we are delighted to run the KPMG Black Entrepreneurs’ Awards for 2024, now in its fifth year.

We’re delighted that you’re taking the first step towards being crowned the next KPMG Black Entrepreneur in the UK.

Details

The Black Entrepreneurs' Award is being set up by KPMG, one of the ‘Big Four’ global auditing companies, in response to Government reports that show that talented black employees are increasingly choosing to become self-employed and found start-ups after experiencing barriers in the job market, only to find new difficulties in accessing the support that will make their businesses investment-ready.

Studies show that Black professionals often face barriers in progressing beyond middle management. This has subsequently led to the growth of Black-founded startups and a growing trend in self-employment.

The bespoke 12-month acceleration programme looks to address the issues faced by black entrepreneurs early on in their startup journey, due to lack of funding or support.

How does it work?

  • Submit application - Tell us about your business through our online application
  • Pitch - Finalists pitch their business to a panel of industry experts for judging.
  • Ceremony - Finalists' pitches are reviewed against criteria and winners announced.
