Overview
The Vogue Summer Intensive Course is suitable for students from a wide range of backgrounds, including school-leavers and graduates hoping to work in fashion, as well as those who are seeking a new career path. This course is a concentrated four-week programme that offers a broad introduction to the fashion industry through the expert eye of the world’s most famous and influential fashion magazine – Vogue – and other Condé Nast Publications titles (including GQ, Tatler, Love.) to give students a unique insight into fashion and media.

Although British Vogue is our starting point, the course also draws upon the broader influences that inform this fast-paced and exciting industry. The course will touch on a wide range of topics, from journalism and PR to creative direction.
The College day begins at 10am and ends at 5pm. Any activities taking place beyond this time are optional. On your first day you will receive a class timetable, which you will access through TimeEdit, the College scheduling system.
There are no specific books to buy for the course. Students will have access to the College reference library and recommendations for further reading will be made throughout the course.
Course Structure
Each week, a key theme is considered, and you will work on group projects and activities throughout the course, including styling in our on-site photography studio and designing your very own Vogue cover. On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded 15 academic credits at level 4 for Fashion Media Module.
Week 1: Introduction to Fashion Media
College induction and introduction to key topics that will be covered on the course. You will also be briefed about your group project during the first week.

- Planning for a career in the fashion industry.
- Visual communication and digital design skills.
Week 2: Creative Practice in Fashion & Styling
The focus is on creative practice in fashion and styling – considering key influences on fashion and identifying the wider macro-environmental trends shaping tastes and consumer behaviour.

- Celebrity styling
- The influence of the street style
- Still-life styling
- Creating mood boards
Week 3: Fashion Storytelling
A closer look at fashion journalism and storytelling across print, digital and social media. During this week, you will also learn about the visual language of fashion media.

- Content creation and social media
- Creative Direction
Week 4: The Business of Fashion Media
The final week will focus on completing and presenting a course assignment as well as working in teams on a studio-based shoot, alongside photographers and other creative professionals.

London provides the backdrop to this four-week course, with visits to galleries and exhibitions as well as the Vogue House experience. What better guide than the Condé Nast family of magazines and digital platforms to explore the fashion world today?
This is an intensive study programme with classes and activities Monday to Thursday, from 10am to 5pm. Any activities taking place beyond this time are optional. Independent and group work to complete the assessed elements of the course will take place on the first three Fridays, with project submission and assessed presentations taking place on the final day.
On the final Friday, at 4.00pm, there will be an end-of-course celebration.

Entry Requirements
Students must be aged at least 18 years old on 31st August at the start of the academic year in which they intend to join this course. An academic year runs 1st September-31st August annually. For the duration of the academic year, a student is considered to be their academic age for admissions purposes, regardless of when their birthday falls within that academic year.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a good level of English.
English Language
There are no formal English language requirements for this course, however it is delivered and assessed in English. If you are a non-UK student and English is not your first language, we recommend you have an Academic IELTS score of 5.5 or be able to use English at this level if you do not hold an English language qualification, before you start. It is your responsibility to ensure that you will be able to participate fully.
