Overview

Every year, the World Literacy Foundation runs a free global program to train and encourage youth individuals to become literacy advocates and generate change in their communities. Our ambassador program is an incredible platform to interact, share and strengthen togetherness with other like-minded people determined to eradicate illiteracy worldwide.

Details

The World Literacy Foundation is looking for passionate and determined individuals to: 

  • Be a voice in their community to advocate for literacy: Ambassadors will speak at their school, university, media or community group to raise awareness.
  • Support the education of vulnerable children around the world: Ambassador will raise funds to support one of the literacy programs of the World Literacy Foundation.
  • Develop their leadership and advocacy skills: Ambassador will receive online training to learn how to get others involved in their cause and make a greater impact to help eradicate in the world.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Who can apply?

We are looking for young people that meet the following criteria:

  • Be 15-25 years old.
  • Have a deep passion for literacy, human rights, and social causes
  • Wants to join a community of Change-Makers
  • Have access to a computer/smartphone and internet connection
  • Have the availability to contribute 30 hours of service across the 3 months to complete the program
  • Be able to take part in fundraising activities for the organization

Cost/funding for participants

The WLF Ambassador is a volunteer role NOT a paid position in the organization. This is NOT a job opportunity. The program is an opportunity to access a platform to develop your leadership skills, and cooperate with other literacy advocates around the globe to help eradicate illiteracy.
