This ASEAN Scholarship is for students from Lao P.D.R. joining Secondary 3 in selected Singapore secondary schools. Find out if you are eligible and how to apply.

Details

MOE offers scholarships to bright young students from ASEAN countries and China to study in Singapore.

Students will have opportunities to broaden their horizons and develop important skills such as leadership, communication and other life skills. They can also help to promote goodwill and understanding among young people from different countries and Singapore.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Lao P.D.R. nationals who:

  • Are born on 2 Jan 2007 to 1 Jan 2010
  • Are proficient in English
  • Have done consistently well in school examinations
  • Have completed at least Grade 10 of upper secondary
  • Have studied English as a subject in Grade 10
  • Have a good record of participation in co-curricular activities

Duration of scholarship

The scholarship is:

  • Valid for 4 years from Secondary 3 to Pre-university 2, leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level certificate, or similar.
  • Renewed each year based on your performance in school.

The scholarship covers:

  • Annual allowance with hostel accommodation.
  • Settling-in allowance.
  • Return economy airfare.
  • School fees.
  • Examination fees for GCE O-Level and A-Level (once only, if applicable)
  • Subsidised medical benefits and insurance cover for accidents.
