OUR PROGRAMS

ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (ASU) ONLINE MASTER’S DEGREES

Arizona State University (ASU), one of our partner universities and a leader in online learning, was recently ranked in 2017 as the most innovative university in the United States (US News and World Report, 2017).

It offers over 50 online master’s programs across a range of fields. The Foundation is now offering scholarships for 28 different specializations, spanning the fields of engineering, technology, health, education, tourism, and more as part of the Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program.

MITX MICROMASTERS IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

The MicroMasters in Supply Chain from MITx is an advanced, professional, graduate-level foundation in Supply Chain Management. It represents the equivalent of 1 semester's worth of coursework at MIT.

The MITx MicroMasters credential consists of five intensive on-line courses covering all aspects of logistics and supply chain management along with an in-person or online, proctored comprehensive final exam. It is important to also note that the MicroMasters is NOT a degree-granting program nor is it a guarantee of admissions to MIT or the SCM graduate program. It is a separate stand-alone professional certificate.

The blended master's degree in SCM is a new option that is being developed by MIT that would allow learners to combine the MITx MicroMasters credential with one+ semester at MIT. Learners with the MITx MicroMasters credential in SCM can then apply to MIT for the blended SCM master’s degree (or to one of the universities that accept the MicroMaster's credential as partial credit).

This new program would require the successful applicant to come to MIT for January through May to take courses on campus for graduation at the beginning of June.

MITX MICROMASTERS IN DATA, ECONOMICS, AND DEVELOPMENT POLICY (DEDP)

The MicroMasters credential in DEDP equips learners with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to tackle some of the most pressing challenges facing developing countries and the world’s poor. Through a series of five online courses and in-person exams learners will gain a strong foundation in microeconomics, development economics, probability and statistics, and engage with cutting-edge research in the field.

Learners who successfully complete the five MicroMasters courses and their corresponding in-person exams will be eligible to apply to MIT’s new blended Master of Data, Economics, and Development Policy program. If accepted, students will earn MIT credit for the MicroMasters courses, and will be able to pursue an accelerated on-campus Master’s degree at MIT.

Each of the 5 courses in the program and exams will be offered 3 times per year, starting in February, June, and September. Learners can take the courses according to their own schedule.

MITX MICROMASTERS IN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

  • We are looking for highly qualified non-traditional candidates. The MicroMasters credential was established to enable MIT’s teaching in logistics and supply chain to be available at little or no cost to thousands of interested learners around the globe. In the same spirit, the Blended program was established to create a new pathway for highly qualified non-traditional candidates to earn a master’s degree from MIT.
  • The historical 10-month residential SCMr program is optimized for early career supply chain professionals, 25 to 35 years old with 5-7 years of work experience who want a big boost to their careers.
  • This program requires a quantitative undergraduate education, very good grades, and a high score on the GMAT or GRE test.  But these traditional criteria exclude many excellent candidates that MIT would like to include in our classes.

MITX MICROMASTERS IN DATA, ECONOMICS, AND DEVELOPMENT POLICY (DEDP)

It is intended for learners who are interested in building a full set of tools and skills required for data analysis in the social sciences, understanding the problems facing world’s poor, and learning how to design and evaluate social policies that strive to solve them.
