The Internship Program at the Al Qasimi Foundation is open to undergraduate and graduate students working on any area in public policy for a period of up to three months. It is ideal for students planning to attend graduate school or seeking to apply their studies through practical research.
Details
The Al Qasimi Foundation Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students up to three months of hands-on public policy experience in a supportive, multilingual environment. Interns work alongside international staff on meaningful projects, ranging from literature reviews and field work to data analysis and multimedia content, and produce at least one policy brief or creative piece for publication on the Foundation’s website. Furnished accommodation, local transportation, and a modest living stipend are provided; interns are responsible for travel to and from the UAE.
The program is offered twice a year, with a Summer Intake and a Winter Intake, giving students flexibility in choosing the right time to join.
The Foundation provides a supportive and respectful learning environment for students as they gain professional experience and work with a diverse, multilingual, international staff. Effort is made to ensure interns are exposed to different aspects of the organization and that assigned projects provide hands-on, meaningful opportunities to contribute to the Foundation’s work and impact in the community. Internship activities may include literature reviews, field work, quantitative/qualitative data gathering and analysis, multimedia projects, and other administrative responsibilities.
Interns are expected to abide by the Al Qasimi Foundation’s employment policies and act in a professional manner at all times. As part of their experience, interns will produce at least one policy brief or creative work (depending on the nature of the internship) that will be published on the Al Qasimi Foundation website. Furnished accommodation and a small stipend to cover the cost of living are provided during the internship. Plane tickets and other costs are the responsibility of the intern.

Minimum eligibility criteria for applicants seeking an internship position:
- Applicant must be a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited university in good academic standing. Recent graduates (within the last two years) will also be considered.
- Applicant must have a minimum TOEFL score of 600 or IELTS score of 6.5 if English is not his/her primary language.
- Applicant must have coursework or degrees in areas relevant to the Al Qasimi Foundation’s work such as education, public health, urban planning and development, economic development, food access, and energy or environmental policy. Students with expertise in other disciplines such as public relations, multimedia, or translation may also be considered depending on the Foundation's needs associated with its specific projects.
- Applicant must demonstrate a genuine interest in Ras Al Khaimah, the United Arab Emirates, and the broader Gulf region.
