United States of America
Welcome to the B.A.E.F.
The Belgian American Educational Foundation Inc. is the leading independent philanthropy in the support of exchanging university students, scientists and scholars between the United States and Belgium.
When millions of Belgians were on the verge of starvation during World War I, an American engineer Herbert Hoover organized the Committee for Relief in Belgium. The magnificent relief effort gave birth after the war to this 90 year-old Foundation known as B.A.E.F. The benevolent service of many Belgians and Americans, sound financial management, far-reaching fundraising, and innovation in programs are the cornerstones of this showpiece of Belgian-American friendship.
