When to Apply
- Need-Based Grants are offered for all terms on a first-come first-served basis per the below schedule. Please apply as soon as you have all of your materials ready (see below for details on what you need to apply).
- Merit Scholarships are offered for spring and fall semester programs only, and have an application deadline. Please see the below schedule for details.
1. Need-Based Grants - CIEE’s need-based grants provide support for students facing financial barriers to studying abroad. To apply, you will need to provide your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), as displayed on your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR). We award need-based grants based on students’ EFCs and program selection.

2. Merit Scholarships - To recognize high academic achievement, CIEE offers a limited number of merit scholarships to our strongest students. These awards are based on students’ academic records, and on the submission of a personal essay describing to us how their CIEE program will impact their college experience and future career plans.
