Overview

Camp 2030 is UNITE 2030’s global, in-person convening, bringing together top Youth Leaders from across the globe for 6 days of innovation and co-creation for the Sustainable Development Goals.

UNITE 2030 strives to identify the most impactful and action-oriented young Changemakers from every country in the world to attend Camp 2030.

We particularly seek youth leaders who embody our core values in their everyday work and life - action, innovation, bravery, generosity, and unity. Many UNITE 2030 Changemakers are top professionals in their field, or aspiring Changemakers who have taken action within their communities to solve global challenges.

The Camp 2030 application process is highly competitive. Each year we receive thousands of applications, and select 200 of them to officially join us in September.

Details

What is UNITE 2030?

Established in 2016, UNITE 2030 is a global community of young leaders who are takin action to end poverty, inequality, injustice, and climate change by the year 2030.

Each year, we equip, empower, and inspire the next generation of young leaders to develop solutions to the biggest challenges that the world faces. We have supported over 20,000 young people between 18-35 from 190 different countries around the world.

At the heart of our work is community. We believe that through community, we can change the world. By building a community of the world’s most passionate and action-oriented young leaders, we create networks and friendships that last a lifetime, as well as lasting impact together.

What is Camp 2030?

Camp 2030 is a global innovation lab for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, hosted each year in New York. Each year, beginning in 2022, we gather hundreds of the world’s top youth leaders for 6 action-packed days of innovation and co-creation of new solutions for the Global Goals, as well as fun and community.

What happens at Camp?

During Camp, Campers work in teams to develop solutions to SDG-related challenges, following a design-thinking rooted process of innovation that leads them from problem to solution in just a few days. On the final day, Campers pitch their solutions to a judging panel to win support for their solution.

Camp 2030 is not just an ordinary innovation lab. Camp takes place in a unique setting, and allows for Changemakers to build authentic connections outside of innovation. Camp allows us to bring together our community in creative ways, and gives us a chance to engage in outdoor activities and team-bonding outside of innovation.

A unique venue in the heart of New York

  • Tucked away in a secluded and woodsy corner of Upstate New York (just 3.5 hours from New York City) you’ll find Camp Echo Lake, a glorious 135 acres of all the best memories you have from summer camp.

  • You know what we’re talking about -high ropes courses, archery, rock climbiing, canoeing, swimming, football, basketball, and more.

Build next generation soutions for the SDGs

  • Campers work in a team of fellow Changemakers to build a new business model around a specific social challenge. Working through our proven innovation process, Campers go from problem to solution in just 6 days.

  • When applying to Camp 2030, prospective Campers select a “Track” that dictates what they will work on throughout the week.

Pitch your solution to an international audience

  • On the final day of Camp 2030, Campers will travel together back to New York City for the start of Global Goals Week to pitch their new solutions at the SDG Solutions Hub.

  • Each Team will pitch their solutions to a judging panel, and the top winner from each Track will have the chance to pitch their solution to a global audience for a chance to be the Global Winner.

Create change while building community

  • While our innovation process is critical to driving impactful and tangible solutions to the Global Goals, what we are most proud of is our community.

  • Camp 2030 is not only about the creation of new solutions, but about having fun too! We are passionate about building lasting connections and friendships through our social activities during Camp 2030.

Our Ambassador Community

By attending Camp 2030, Campers gain lifetime membership to the UNITE 2030 community, gaining access to exclusive opportunities, events, and programs that stem from being part of our community.

After attending Camp, Campers become UNITE 2030 Ambassadors for life,
giving them direct access to:

Camp 2030 Tracks

The camper journey

  • The Application: After checking our eligibility, Campers can apply online through our website, where they will enter the journey with thousands of others who apply for Camp 2030. After submitting their application, they can expect to head back from us within one month of submission with an email indicating their status. We accept Campers on a rolling basis and suggest that Campers get applications in earlier rather than later.
  • After Acceptance: After Campers receive an email indicating that they have been chosen as one of our 200 Campers for the 2024 year, they will receive an email with further instructions, including thier Camper Essential Information Form, and will be enrolled in our Online Training.
  • Preparing for Camp: Accepted Campers will automatically be added to our Mandatory Camper Training which includes an Orientation Session, a Cultural Intelligence Session and a Pre-Camp Call, all which will happen online in two accommodating time zones. Campers will receive all the necessary information through our platform Circle, where they will get information on the schedule, packing lists and more!
  • Attending Camp: As we near closer to September, Campers will have the chance to pre-order merchandise, meet other Campers and get all the information they need to show up on September 9th in New York City to meet the team and all other Campers. Then, we’ll hop on buses up to Camp Echo Lake, for a week of co-creation, innovation and fun.
  • After Camp: After Camp, Campers become Ambassadors of our programming, and are invited to exclusive events, and act as our leaders for the recruitment of the top leaders in their area for next years Camp. Campers are also able to apply to become a counselor after they have attended Camp once, and are able to join us for our post-camp incubator, Launch 2030.
