Support The Democracy 2020 Youth Film Challenge! Help us inspire young Americans to vote.

Voter turnout, especially among our youth, is alarmingly low. Yet the future of our democracy depends on the next generations of citizens! The Democracy 2020 Youth Film Challenge was created to engage this critical generation, inspire civic action and drive young voters to the polls. If you believe, as we do, in the power of young voices to accomplish change, please support this unique initiative.

Documentaries (up to 8 minutes in length)

Please submit films that will address issues that you believe should be addressed by 2020 candidates. Your submissions should motivate the future generations of citizens to engage in national elections.

We invite you to view some of the films produced by past Civic Life Youth Film Challenge participants

Social Media Works (up to 2 minutes in length)

We challenge you to produce much shorter video whose specific aim is to measurably increase youth registration and vote in 2020. You are free to use animation, documentary, interviews, testimonials or drama.  Create your video for your favorite social media platform. Include a link through which your viewers pledge to vote.  The video that gets the most vote pledges wins the award for best social media clip.
