Overview
The European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) is an open multi-stakeholder platform to exchange views about the Internet and how it is governed. First organised in 2008 by several organisations, government representatives and experts, it fosters dialogue and collaboration with the Internet community on public policy for the Internet – culminating in an annual conference that takes place in a different European city every year. EuroDIG ‘Messages’ are prepared and presented to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).
EuroDIG 2024 is going to take place from June 17–19 in Vilnius, Lithuania! It will be hosted by the Communications Regulatory Authority of Lithuania (RRT) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Lithuania and Public Institution GoVilnius.
We are joining forces with the Baltic Domain Days 2024, which take place at the same location and at the same time.
Details
EuroDIG is not a usual conference organized top-down by a small committee. It is a platform where YOU can set the agenda and shape the issues. Every year EuroDIG takes place in another European country thus bringing in new people constantly. The local community always plays a big role in the planning process, whilst the European network of institutional partnersbehind EuroDIG guarantees stability and continuity. The EuroDIG secretariat offers and facilitates diverse participative opportunities to help you contribute to the agenda setting or to organise a session.
EuroDIG’s key principles are "always open, always inclusive". During the programme drafting process we do not exclude any proposal. Instead of accepting or disregarding session proposals, we call for issue proposals (not sessions) to be discussed on the next EuroDIG agenda and cluster them accordingly. The aim is to identify submissions which can be incorporated in one session while reflecting different perspectives.
Keynote Speaker 2024 (expected)
- Marija Pejčinović Burić (tbc), Secretary General of the Council of Europe
- Tomas Lamanauskas (tbc), Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
