ABOUT

Active since 1982, the European Health Management Association (EHMA) is a non-profit membership organisation open to all those committed to improving health and healthcare. Our focus is on health management capacity and capabilities and on supporting the successful implementation of health policy and practice, so as to make a real difference to the lives of Europe’s 500 million citizens.

EHMA is the only membership organisation in Europe to bring together health and hospital managers, healthcare professionals, researchers, educators, academia, policy and decision makers. EHMA provides an environment where evidence, challenge and experience are valued and complex debates on current topics take place. With a secretariat located in the heart of Europe, EHMA maximises its impact by placing its membership at the heart of all that it does.

EHMA plays a crucial role in engaging with the full ecosystem of European health management systems. EHMA is a highly accessible and well-established place where people can debate and engage in issues that affect them, where they feel they can advocate for change, and find solutions. Through our members and networks, we reach local, regional, national, and international levels. While cynicism with politics grows, engagement in EHMA activities is a way for people to contribute to public life and support issues which are of concern to them.

EHMA activities revolve around three key work streams:

  • Membership-focused actions and network engagement;
  • Research and EU-funded project work focused on dissemination and stakeholder engagement; and
  • Events and workshops, such as the EHMA Annual Conference, the yearly Programme Directors’ Group Meeting, the webinar series and the executive workshops.

OUR VISION IS excellent health management for a healthy Europe.
OUR MISSION IS to support the spread of knowledge on effective health management.
OUR VALUES ARE excellence, quality, inclusiveness, relevance, and respect.
