Overview

This scholarship was established in memory of Eva Kleinn (1971 – 2005) and her tireless work on behalf of nature conservation, sustainable regional development, environmental education and intercultural communication in Russia and the Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan) as well as in the Caspian region. At the same time, the scholarship offers financial support for young, national and international scientists who are involved in these areas and thus continue to work in the spirit of Eva Kleinn.

Awards Procedure

The annually available scholarship amount may be awarded once (twice in exceptional cases with sufficient justification) to one or several applicants. Applications should be addressed to the Michael Succow Foundation. A decision will be announced within one month by the board-appointed jury (Prof. Dr. Michael Succow, Prof. Dr. Hans Dieter Knapp, Thomas Tennhardt).

The scholarship will be paid in installments, depending on the requirements as outlined in the budget plan. Previous expenses must be documented prior to payment of the next installment.

After six months, recipients are expected to submit a brief summary of the sponsored project; upon completion, the project results are to be turned over to the foundation.
