Green Chemistry is one of the key sciences of a sustainable development on earth and required for reaching the 17 UN-Goals. This last edition of the Post-graduate Summer School on Green Chemistry will provide the participants with an understanding of the latest developments of the concepts and management of green and sustainable chemistry. IUPAC and ICGCSD are fully aware of their responsibility in working in the direction of Sustainable Development Through Green Chemistry.
t is with a great pleasure that I welcome you for the next Postgraduate Summer School on Green Chemistry which will take place from 4th to 10th July 2020 in Venice.
Maybe you already know about the previous remarkable 11 editions of Summer Schools, in particular last one which took place in Palazzo Ducale in St. Mark’s Square in Venice.
We want now to tune the next Summer School to the good outcomes of the Symposium “Chemistry addressing UN-17 sustainable development goals” (Paris, IUPAC General Assembly and Congress, 8th July 2019 https://www.iupac2019.org/sympo-8-5) by inviting:
- outstanding teachers
- major chemical industries
- top level students
To attend the school some postgraduate students coming from developing countries will be awarded with a scholarship of € 600 each. Last time, 35 grants were possible thanks to the generous participations of the sponsors; we hope in this edition to have the same chance.
The Summer School on Green Chemistry will be held in Venice from 4th to 10th July 2020.
The official language of the Conference is English.
The number of participants will be limited to 80 postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers from all over the world. It will consist of 6 lecture days. Lectures (20 total) are scheduled as a morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM and an afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Main topics will be:
- Exploitation of renewable resources
- New Reaction pathways
- Energy saving
- Food safety
- Green Chemistry for cultural heritage
- Climate Change damages mitigation
Students will have the opportunity to expose their research and work at the Summer School Poster Session and the best posters will be rewarded by the Sponsors at the awarding ceremony.
The Summer School will be the occasion for you to exchange ideas and make friendship with colleagues at an international level, and we will do our utmost to ensure that these links and connections will be permanent!
