Overview

This fragile Earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs you.

Getting active with Greenpeace involves becoming an active supporter and volunteering some of your time to support Greenpeace. Active supporters are people who volunteer about once a month (or more) to carry out specific tasks in order to help meet Greenpeace's objectives. The passion, enthusiasm and integrity of active supporters makes them invaluable.

Get Involved

You can help us grow our network of people willing to take action for the environment. Tweet, Blog, and Share our content. Send emails to your friends. Talk about our campaigns and victories in your own language, and make sure your friends know how you are making a difference.

  • Volunteer with a local organisation: 15,000 volunteers around the world help us to do everything from painting signs and organising local marches, to dropping banners and occupying oil-rigs. Ever wanted to become an activist? In some countries, our regional organisations provide training to people who want to become activists. To find out more, get in touch with your local Greenpeace organisation.
  • Start your own campaign: Is there a local issue that you care about? If you have an idea to make your community, your school, your local environment, or the entire planet a better place, then start your own campaign to make that change happen.

About Us

We want to live on a healthy, peaceful planet. A planet where forests flourish, oceans are full of life and where once-threatened animals safely roam.

Where our quality of life is measured in relationships, not things. Where our food is delicious, nutritious, and grown with love. Where the air we breathe is fresh and clear. Where our energy is as clean as a mountain stream. Where everyone has the security, dignity and joy we all deserve.

It’s all possible. We can’t make it happen alone, but have no doubt: We can do it together.

  • Our Values: Greenpeace uses non-violent creative action to pave the way towards a greener, more peaceful world, and to confront the systems that threaten our environment.
  • Our Plan: Greenpeace's voice has never been more necessary to amplify the courage and power of the people who are trying to build something better.
  • Our Global Structure: Greenpeace is a global network of independent national and regional Greenpeace organisations (NROs) and Greenpeace International as a coordinating organisation.
  • Our Governance: Meet our Board of Directors, see how our Management Team is structured, learn about our Open Information Policy, read our financials, and learn how our campaign issues get agreed upon.
  • Our History & Successes: In 1971, our founders set sail to an island in the Arctic. Their mission? To stop a nuclear bomb. It was a journey that would spark a movement and make history.
  • Our Network: The 26 independent national / regional Greenpeace organisations work directly with communities on the frontlines as they protect the environments they call home.
  • Our Legal Unit: Greenpeace International’s Legal Unit consists of a team of specialised lawyers that provide independent legal advice to the global Greenpeace network.
  • Our Annual Report: Greenpeace International is proud to be part of a global network of independent Greenpeace organisations and we are happy to report back on our work.
