Gymnázium Omská Model United Nations is a Prague based MUN, named after the organising school. GOMUN also provides, besides the traditional awards, the Best Newcomer award for the most distinguished MUN first-timers in each committee.

What is MUN?
Model United Nations (abbrev. MUN) is an educational event invented for high-school students from all over the world. The concept simulates a UN conference during which students (delegates of UN countries) separate into various committees and discuss today’s greatest issues. During a two-day debate the delegates are supposed to come up with a solution suitable for the majority of countries represented at the conference. These solutions are then discussed at the General Assembly, the great finish that all MUN conferences lead to. The debate is moderated by realistic Rules of Procedure which the participants have to comply with.
Venues
Gymnazium Omská, the main venue of GOMUN, is where all the committee work will take place. The school is easy to navigate and provides an ideal location for a MUN conference. Everything you may need will be on the same floor. All perfectly sized committee rooms will be provided with wi-fi connection, projector, and refreshments.
The best way to get to Gymnazium Omská is by tram, you can ride on the tram number 6, 7, 22 and 24. The closest tram station is called Kubánské Náměstí and is approximately 2 minutes by walking from the venue. If you choose to travel by bus, the closest station (about 8 minutes from the venue) is Bělocerkevská. The closest underground station is Strašnická on the (green) A-line where you can change from the underground to the tram 7.
Both Opening and Closing Ceremony, as well as the General Assembly, are going to take place in the Assembly Hall of the Prague municipal council. The breath-taking Art Nouveau building has played a major role in many events in the Czech history, and it is an honor for us to host our GA in such a venue. Even though it is a historical sight, the hall is full of modern equipment such as numerous screens displaying the current speaker and any needed documents. It also offers a wardrobe and a saloon with the renowned GOMUN refreshment.
The Prague City Hall is best accessible by the underground (green line A to the station Staroměstská and then 5 minutes walking). There is also a bus station of the line 194 right next to the venue.

Requirements
A delegate should comply with basic requirements in order to apply. A delegate should;
- be a high school (15-20 years old) or university student (20-24 years old)
- have an intermediate level of English
- submit a Position Paper one week prior to the conference
- pay the delegate fee: 1400 CZK / 60 €

Cost/funding for participants
The delegate fee costs 1400 CZK / 60 € and includes entry to all official events, GOMUN Kit , and catering during the whole event (lunches and refreshments).Please note that the fee does not include transport or accommodation expenses.
