About us

Established in 2015, the HKU Summer Institute (HKUSI) provides learning opportunities for secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate students from around the world. Our programmes are uniquely designed to enable students to explore their academic interests and career pathways while enjoying the summer experience of a lifetime at HKU.

For undergraduate students, HKUSI offers a wide variety of summer programmes to suit different disciplinary interests. Our programmes are presented in four major categories - Research, Internships, Immersive Programmes, and Multi-location Programmes. Studying alongside their peers from around the world, students will have the opportunity to make meaningful connections and expand their international network to facilitate future professional development.

Our secondary school programmes also cover a wide range of academic areas and create an environment favourable to the personal growth and development of our students. Secondary school students are invited to experience university life to better prepare themselves for advanced studies. Our programmes in STEM, Business and Economics, Society & Language, and Summer Camps engage students in experiential learning that's fun and stimulating.

To top it off, HKUSI students have the benefit of staying in one of our residential halls to foster friendships and mentorships, while participating in organised social and cultural activities around this international city.
