Internships with UNICEF offer a unique opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF's work and the United Nations system under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff. UNICEF is seeking candidates for our IT Internship roster in our Global Shared Services (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary.
IT Internships in the GSSC include opportunities working with our Local Information Technology team or with our IT Customer Care team providing global IT services.
The intern will gain exposure to UNICEF information technology environment in a shared services environment. This role will offer the opportunity to understand IT equipment, technologies, and systems as well as participate in the design of some of the new systems and integration with existing systems and equipment.
The internship will also provide exposure within an international environment to learn about the role of information and telecommunication technology to help UNICEF fulfil its mission and to operate in a global IT environment.

- Current enrollment in Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree programme or recent graduate, in Information Technology, Computer science, or a related technical area
- Fluency in English
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of business applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and VISIO.
- Ability to organize and manage information to achieve defined goals and optimum results.
- Demonstrated commitment and drive for results.
- Eligible applicants must be nationals of EU countries or currently studying in Hungary.

Cost/funding for participants:
Internships will be for a 3 to 6 months duration, depending on organizational needs and intern availability.
This internship is paid with a stipend of approximately HUF 140,000 per month for full-time arrangements, which will be prorated for part-time schedules.
The selected intern will be required to provide proof of enrollment in a health/accident plan prior to taking up the assignment.
