Overview
The study visit will gather youth workers who are interested in learning more about the involvement of young people with disabilities in their youth work practices.
Details
The study visit focuses on youth work organizations becoming more inclusive with the aim to lower thresholds for the participation of young people with disabilities within youth work. Through this study visit you have the opportunity to get inspired by practices and the (un)successful factors. Your individual learning will be encouraged both by peer learning as well as reflection on your own position/behaviour as a youth worker and organization.
Are you a youth worker and you want to become more aware about the difficulties these young people face? Do you want to make a change in your local reality and kick it up a notch? Don’t wait any longer and sign up for this activity! We will help you taking the next steps towards that goal!
Aims and Objectives
The main aim is to open up youth work towards young people with a disability:
- To share and inspire with a diversity of local youth work practices both from Switzerland and the participating countries
- To discover tools and models for more disability inclusive youth work approaches
- To reflect on the approaches of youth workers and discuss about successes and challenges they face
- To create networking opportunities between participants
- To explore the opportunities of the European Youth Programmes and beyond, for future collaborations
Methodologies
During this activity we will use the principles of Non-Formal Education and a Peer Learning approach based on the experiences of the group and the Swiss reality. The activity will consist of study visits, theoretical inputs and partnership building elements.
Application procedure
The questions can be answered by completing the form, or by submitting a video or voice recording. All application methods will be processed equally, we invite you to use the one that feels the most comfortable. Please find more information in 'Guidelines application' (see downloads).
This activity is part of the long term activity ‘Strategic Partnership on Inclusion’. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding accessibility, please reach out to the contact persons in the call.
