Overview

Taught by Warwick staff, our courses are packed with lectures and seminars, a guest speaker, sessions on applying to study in the UK and personal development skills workshops. Our three academic courses allow you to experience university teaching in the subjects of your choice - you can find out more about each course below. No matter which course you choose, they have all been designed to include personal development sessions to enhance your skills and lots of experiences which will help you to prepare for studying in the UK. You should go away feeling more confident and more prepared having gained invaluable insights.

There are no subject specific requirements for the courses, but you should be enthusiastic about the academic content and considering applying to (or have already applied to) university.

Details

A Taste of Economics and Finance

Students on our Taste of Economics and Finance course will learn some of the key concepts of game theory, behavioural economics, macro and microeconomics, environmental economics and finance in the 21st century.

A Taste of Social Sciences

Students on our Taste of Social Sciences course will have the chance to discover more about five of our exciting Social Science subjects on offer at Warwick: Law, Education Studies, Philosophy, Politics and Sociology.

A Taste of Science and Engineering

Students on our Taste of Science and Engineering course will be able to sample a range of exciting STEM disciplines: Psychology, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, Maths and Statistics.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Students applying for this programme must be aged 16-17 and considering applying or have already applied to university. There are no subject specific criteria but you should be a passionate and enthusiastic learner.

Cost/funding for participants

Pre-University Summer School Fee 2024

£4250 (inclusive of a £1000 deposit, required to secure place)

The fee includes accommodation for 10 nights, breakfast, dinner (evening meal), refreshments, the social programme, all academic and skills teaching, the guest lectures, travel to London and Oxford and all the activities on trips.

You will need additional money for lunch, souvenirs, any other drinks and snacks, and any shopping you may wish to do during the programme.
