Be awarded for a highly ranked audition for entry into the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) or based on your academic and creative excellence during your school studies for Dance, Music and Visual Arts.

Details

The Vice Chancellor's Scholarships (Creative Industries) are awarded the students who are highest ranked in their portfolio, interview or performance for entry into creative industries courses with additional entry requirements.

This scholarship is available for the two highest-ranked students in each of the additional entry courses within the Creative Industries Faculty. An additional entry course is any course that requires an audition, interview or portfolio as part of the entry requirements. See terms and conditions for more information.

You must be applying for admission into one of:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance)
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance)
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts)
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting)
  • Bachelor of Music
  • Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts).

Eligibility

You must be one of:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident, or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  • an international student who has completed high school in Australia or Australian curriculum (or International Baccalaureate) overseas.

You must also:

  • be starting university for the first time in 2024
  • have placed one of the eligible Creative Industries courses as your first preference on your QTAC application.

    • Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts)
    • Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts)
    • Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance)
    • Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music)
    • Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts)

For Acting you will be considered based on your acting audition. For Dance, Music, and Visual Arts you will be considered based on your academic and creative excellence during your school studies.

Preference may be given to Indigenous Australian applicants.

If you're interested in a Creative Industries course that isn't eligible for this scholarship, you may be eligible for the QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic) instead.

Deadline: November 30, 2024


Cost/funding for participants

You'll receive:

  • a scholarship valued at $10,000 each. This scholarship will be paid as a study stipend of $2,500 after the HECS-HELP census date of each semester for the first four semesters of your course ($5,000 per year)
  • entry into QUT's College of Excellence.
