About

The Scholarship Office is managed through the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research on behalf of the Ras Al Khaimah Government to support the academic and professional development of promising Emirati students and professionals. It provides funding for students to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies at select domestic institutions as well as top tier universities overseas, particularly in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. Additionally, the Scholarship Office provides academic advising and support for applying to overseas universities, including exploration of academic programs and careers that meet the strategic needs of the emirate and enrich the Ras Al Khaimah community.

Scholarship Office Objectives

  • Identify promising Ras Al Khaimah students and support their academic and personal development through university studies;
  • Support Ras Al Khaimah Government entities in developing future leaders through postgraduate studies and specialized qualifications;
  • Encourage varied careers and the development of knowledge and expertise for addressing the vision and strategic needs of the emirate;
  • Build collaborations with government entities and academic institutions that support talent development.

Mission

The Scholarship Office supports promising students and professionals in realizing their potential through university studies, preparing them to serve as future leaders who contribute to the strategic development and vision of Ras Al Khaimah and the broader UAE.

Vision

The Scholarship Office strives to be a champion for talent development in Ras Al Khaimah, working in partnership with government and academic institutions to prepare the next generation of Emiratis to successfully lead the emirate and UAE in an interconnected and global world.

To Apply

Individuals planning to apply for a Domestic or Overseas Scholarship should follow the steps outlined below:

  • Gain admission to a relevant academic program at an eligible domestic university or eligible overseas university;
  • Visit the online scholarship portal and review all Domestic Scholarship or Overseas Scholarship instructions and information carefully, including eligibility criteria;
  • Create a scholarship portal account with username and password (applicable for all new users);
  • Once logged into the portal, select “Domestic Scholarship” or “Overseas Scholarship” to start an application;
  • In English, complete the online scholarship application form and upload all required documents to the application;
  • Submit the application before the June 30, 2024 (late applications will not be considered).

Applicants will receive an acknowledgment email confirming successful submission of their scholarship application. If the confirmation email is not received, applicants should check their spam folders. They may also contact: scholarships@alqasimifoundation.rak.ae.

Application Review & Selection Process

Every year, the Scholarship Office receives more applications from well-qualified students than the available scholarship budget can support. The application review process is therefore extremely competitive. Meeting the basic Domestic or Overseas Scholarship eligibility requirements does not guarantee a scholarship award.

  • Late and incomplete applications will not be considered, nor will applications that fail to follow instructions or that provide inaccurate information.
  • Factors considered during the review process include: academic performance, English language skills, university reputation, relevance of selected degree program, career aspirations, and special circumstances.
  • The Statement of Intent is often what sets well-qualified applicants apart during the review process. Applicants are therefore advised to take time on this particular element of their applications and ensure it reflects their best effort.

Following the initial review phase, select applicants will be shortlisted and invited for an interview with the Scholarship Office. The interview process will be the final step in determining scholarship awards based on the available annual budget. Students who receive a scholarship offer will be required to sign an agreement outlining the associated expectations in order to formally accept and confirm the scholarship award. All Scholarship applicants will be notified by the end of August on the outcome of their applications.
