Overview
Start-Up Chile (SUP) is a public startup accelerator created by the Chilean Government for high-potential entrepreneurs to bootstrap their startups and use Chile as a foundation. Today, Start-Up Chile is the leading accelerator in LATAM, among the TOP 10 globally, and one of the biggest and most diverse startup communities in the world. Start-Up Chile has been a global game changer. After it was created, 50 countries followed suit and created similar programs.

More than 1,900 startups from 85 countries have participated in the Start-Up Chile Program since it began in October 2010. Of this portfolio, as of June 2019, 26% correspond to Chilean entrepreneurs and 74% to foreigners. In terms of gender, 26% of the supported ventures are led by women and 74% by men.
The Start-Up Chile Program has three lines that merge into this instrument; in the first place “Build”, formerly called “The S Factory”, whose purpose is preacceleration focused on the development of MVP, prototypes and entrepreneurial skills; secondly, “Ignite”, formerly known as “Seed”, which aims to accelerate startups that use Chile as a platform for the commercial growth of new businesses; and third, “Growth”, whose aim is to support growth-stage startups in fundraising, exponential sales growth, and internationalization, attraction, and retention of advanced human capital.

PRE-ACCELERATION PROGRAM

- Equity-free funding of $25M CLP (Around $35K USD).
- Possibility of a extension of $25M CLP (Around $35K USD).
Growth
SCALE PROGRAM
For the expansion of consolidated innovative and tech-based startups
- Startups in expansion stage.
- Twelve-month program.
- Two cohorts per year. Up to 10-15 startups each.
- Equity-free funding of $75M CLP (Around $100K USD).

Description of Ideal Candidate
- For our Build program, we look for early-stage startups. Based on idea or prototype with concept validation activities, technological base, global potential, of any industry and country with less than one year of development. Join us to get a unique learning experience about entrepreneurship during an intense 4 months program!
- Our Ignite program seeks to attract entrepreneurs with a global approach to doing business in Chile. Be part of our 4-month acceleration program. We look for the best startups in any industry and country with a minimum validated product and have less than three years of development. Join our diverse community of entrepreneurs, focused on the Chilean and Latin American markets.
- Our Growth program attracts global tech-based businesses in their expansion stage. Growth accommodates startups looking to scale their sales and expand to new markets using Chile as a platform.
Do I need to be Chilean or have a Chilean ID to apply?
No, however, we have different specifications depending on where you reside.
If you are Chilean you must apply with a valid local ID. If you are foreign but are already living in Chile you must apply with your valid Chilean ID. If you are foreign and currently living outside of Chile you must apply with a valid passport from your home country.
