Overview

The World Youth Alliance North America has launched four fellowship opportunities for young, passionate, highly motivated, mission-driven, committed young leaders, and offers a rare opportunity for leadership, project management, strategic planning, networking, and on-the-ground work with projects that build up a culture that respects and responds to the dignity of the person.

Details

Each hired fellow will be tasked with building WYA projects through content development or on-the-ground implementation.

Available Fellowships

  • North America Fellowship
  • Education Fellowship
  • Advocacy Fellowship
  • Women's Health and Education Fellowship
  • Fundraising Management Fellowship

Fellows report directly to the Regional Director for WYA NA.

Hired fellows receive training in fundraising, project management, leadership, networking, the WYA mission, and more.

Training in fundraising prepares a fellow to fundraise their entire stipend by building a financial support team through their local communities, etc. Training gives the fellow all necessary tools in order to build this team–networking, fundraising, accounting, and more.

The World Youth Alliance (WYA) began in 1999 when 21-year-old Anna Halpine stood up for human dignity during a conference at the United Nations. Since then, WYA has grown to include tens of thousands of members around the world with six regional offices, all dedicated to the defense of the dignity of the person through education, culture, and advocacy.

Today, WYA works at international institutions such as the United Nations, the European Union, and the Organization of American States, as well as with young people from around the world to build a culture that supports and nurtures the dignity of each human person. We bring young people to international conferences and into dialogue with ambassadors, diplomats, and political leaders. We focus on:

  • international policy and human rights
  • economic development
  • social development
  • global health
  • education

Description of Ideal Candidate:

Who can apply to be a fellow?

We require all fellows to be 18-30 years old and have a completed B.A. degree.

Upon submitting their resume and cover letter, fellows will be asked to submit a more extensive application, answering a selection of questions specific to their fellowship of choice. Two interview rounds follow before hiring for the fellowship.

Deadlines?

All fellowship applications are considered on a rolling basis. Fellows begin to work as soon as they’re hired–most will begin over the summer following graduation.

Where can fellows live?

Fellows can live anywhere of their choice, but it is recommended that fellows select a location with many networking opportunities–locations with universities, high schools, medical clinics, and a large young adult community are recommended for growing WYA projects.

Do fellows receive vacation time and sick days?

Yes. Certain holidays are given to fellows, with ten additional paid vacation days and five sick days.

Does WYA provide health insurance?

No, WYA is unable to provide health insurance.
