SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS
Interested applicants to this scholarship are required to submit the following documents along with the “World in Serbia” Scholarship Application Form:
- application for two study programs (specify the preferred faculty and another alternative faculty) he/she wants to pursue, in accordance with his/her previous qualifications and terms and conditions for enrolment in the desired study program in the Republic of Serbia;
- curriculum vitae with a motivation letter in English;
- photocopy of the biographical page on your passport;
- proof of acquired education (certified photocopies of academic certificates, transcripts with grades, or diploma supplements);
- proof of English (certificate, transcript, confirmation, etc.);
- a medical certificate not older than six months confirming that the candidate does not suffer from any infectious disease; and
- certificate that he/she is HIV negative.

Conditions for receiving a scholarship
A candidate may be eligible for a scholarship if they meet the following conditions:
- They are a citizen of a member state or observer state of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
- They have been proposed by the competent authority of the participating state in the Project.
- They are younger than:
- 21 years old for enrollment in first-level studies – undergraduate academic studies, integrated academic studies, undergraduate vocational studies;
- 25 years old for enrollment in first-level specialist vocational studies and second-level studies – master’s academic studies, master’s vocational studies, specialist academic studies;
- 35 years old for enrollment in third-level studies – doctoral academic studies.
- They possess the appropriate educational qualifications:
- For enrollment in undergraduate academic/integrated/vocational studies – they must have completed secondary education of four years’ duration;
- For enrolment in master’s academic studies:
- With 60 ECTS credits – they must have an appropriate diploma from a higher education institution obtained from undergraduate academic studies with at least 240 ECTS credits, or an appropriate diploma from a higher education institution of four years’ duration;
- With 120 ECTS credits – they must have an appropriate diploma from a higher education institution obtained from undergraduate academic studies with at least 180 ECTS credits;
- For enrollment in specialist vocational studies – they must have an appropriate diploma from a higher education institution obtained from undergraduate academic or vocational studies with at least 180 ECTS credits;
- For enrollment in master’s vocational studies – they must have an appropriate diploma from a higher education institution obtained from undergraduate or specialist vocational studies, or undergraduate academic studies, with at least 180 ECTS credits;
- For enrollment in doctoral academic studies – they must have completed undergraduate academic and master’s academic studies, or integrated studies (at least 5 years of finished academic studies), with an overall average grade of at least 8.5 in both undergraduate academic and master’s academic studies, or integrated studies of 300 ECTS credits.
- Knowledge of English at least at A1 level, or knowledge of Serbian at least at A1 level upon arrival.

Cost/funding for participants
The scholarship within the Project includes:
- Free preparatory Serbian language instruction (intensive Serbian language course upon arrival in the Republic of Serbia). This does not apply to scholarship recipients who have already studied in Serbia and attended Serbian language classes.
- Free education within one level of studies, including undergraduate academic, integrated academic, and vocational studies, specialist vocational studies, master’s academic and vocational studies, specialist academic or doctoral studies.
- A monthly scholarship in the amount of RSD 18,000.00.
- Free accommodation and meals at student standard institutions.
- Voluntary healthcare insurance for scholarship recipients studying the Serbian language.
- Mandatory healthcare insurance for scholarship recipients under 26 years of age, and voluntary healthcare insurance for scholarship recipients over 26 years of age.
- According to the Law on Administrative Fees, No. 37, foreign nationals who are scholarship recipients of the Government and stay in the Republic of Serbia for the purpose of education or study are exempt from the residence fee, but are not exempt from paying additional fees necessary for processing residence permit applications (administrative fees for submission (RSD 400), issuance of temporary residence permit (RSD 2,040), and foreigner’s temporary residence permit form (RSD 1,788)).
- Free recognition of secondary school diplomas.
- Free recognition of higher education diplomas.
The scholarship within the Project does not include:
- Travel expenses for arrival and departure from and to the Republic of Serbia;
- Public transportation costs within the Republic of Serbia;
- Costs for textbooks and study materials during the studies.
