At TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FOTO AWARDS we recognize, honor and connect talented photographers from around the world to new audiences and new eyes in the creative circles of Tokyo, Japan. The competition is open to everyone and we invite photographers from all over the world to enter their work.

About the Prize

Winners are selected by our esteemed jury of photographers and leaders in the photography world and are awarded the TIFA trophy, cash prizes, extensive publicity showcasing their work to a worldwide audience, and much more.

TIFA is managed by International Awards Inc.

Submission Guidelines
Digital submissions must be saved as jpg, and minimum 1000 pixels in either height or width. Please remember also to keep your files in RGB format, no greater than 4MB per image.

You may enter the same photograph into as many categories as you see fit. You can also submit as many entries in as many categories as you like. All photographs should be no older than 5 years.

Description of Ideal Candidate:

  • The TIFA competition is open to anyone aged 18+ residing anywhere in the world. Professional entries will be judged against other professionals; emerging and student entries against other students / emerging.
  • We define Professional as those who earn the majority of their income from photography.
    Emerging and student photographers are also invited to submit their work. TIFA is open to photographers from all over the world.

Cost/funding for participants:

Tokyo International Foto Awards winners receive significant, international publicity and exposure. In contrast to many other photography awards, all the associated perks of winning TIFA are included in your entry fee. We provide extensive media exposure through our magazine and newspaper partners distributing and promoting winners works.

Entry Fees

Professional:

  • $20 per single image
  • $30 per series ( 2-8 images with the same theme)
  • 30% off per additional category, if same entry is submitted to multiple categories

Non-professional: 

  • $15 per single image
  • $20 per series (2-8 images with the same theme)
  • 30% off per additional category, if same entry is submitted to multiple categories

Students: 

  • $10 per single image
  • $15 per series (2-8 images with the same theme)
  • 30% off per additional category, if same entry is submitted to multiple categories

Portfolio category: Entry fee for the Portfolio Category is $50

Please note that there are no further fees for winners services. The award, winners packages and publications are all free of charge.
