Overview
TBU Summer Schools are intensive short courses accompanied by interesting supporting events organised at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Czech Republic. Participants from all over the world can choose from various courses in different fields like Risk Assessment, Cybernetics and Informatics or Statistics. Within two challenging and exciting weeks, participants gain valuable knowledge, focusing on current issues and modern trends, but also have fun in a multicultural environment. All courses run simultaneously in August, thus participants can choose to join one of the courses only.

Events
All events, which represent an important part of the programme of the 2024 TBU Summer School, are included in the fee. Participants can engage in different entertainment activities which are organised in the afternoons or the evenings.
Participants can look forward to participating in a weekend one-day trip, during which they will discover the beautiful surroundings of Zlín. The trip includes entrances to historical sights set in a beautiful landscape of Moravia. In 2023 summer school participants visited Buchlovice castle, Velehrad Basilica, Kroměříž castle, Javoříčko caves, castle Bouzov, Lešná Zoo, the largest Moravian Spa Luhačovice, the longest waterslide in the Czech Republic, or a unique Dlouhé stráně water power station.
Town - Zlín
Tomas Bata University is situated in Zlín, which is an industrial town in the administrative centre of the Zlín Region. Zlín lies in South Eastern Moravia (approximately 300 km east of Prague, 100 km east of Brno, and 220 km north of the capital of Austria, Vienna). Zlín is known as the birthplace of the founder of the Bata shoe empire, Tomas Bata. His company flourished in Zlín in the first half of the 20th century. First-time visitors in Zlín are usually greatly impressed by the town’s beauty, a friendly environment and greenery. The advantage of the town is its distribution because all important places, buildings and institutions can be reached and explored on foot. The parks in the center same as the nearest surroundings offer lots of possibilities. The possibilities to relax, engage in sports activities or spend a great day avoiding a noise and an air pollution. Zlín also fascinates visitors with its unique functionalist architecture. In addition, during the TBU Summer School, an international motor race – Barum Czech Rally – part of the World Rally Championship, takes place in Zlín. Furthermore, the large number of students makes Zlín a university town full of young people.
