Root Cause has a number of volunteer positions available for those who would like to explore the research and consulting space in the nonprofit sector and learn more about Root Cause's role in the social impact market. We welcome all candidates who are interested in learning about and helping nonprofits, philanthropy, government, and business work together to advance solutions to today's toughest social issues. Volunteers are exposed to a diverse array of projects and work closely with senior staff within and outside of their appointed department. They are also able to attend various events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
Volunteer positions have been developed at two levels with particular responsibilities and qualifications in mind. Root Cause Residents are graduate students or seasoned professionals, and Root Cause Interns are undergraduate students or recent college graduates. In both cases, volunteers have the opportunity to build upon their current experiences and expertise to further develop their skillsets and expand their networks.
The number of hours worked per week and the length of service are flexible, but we would prefer that volunteers make a commitment between 3-12 months.
