Overview

Victim Support Europe (VSE) is the leading European umbrella organisation advocating on behalf of all victims of crime, no matter what the crime, no matter who the victim is. VSE represents 44 national member organisations, providing support and information services to more than 2 million people affected by crime every year in 26 countries. Founded in 1990, VSE has been working for over 25 years for a Europe, and a world, where all victims have strong victims’ rights and services, whether they report the crime or not. We work towards this mission through advocacy to improve EU and international laws, through research and knowledge development and through capacity building at the national and local level.

Volunteer

Whether you have a few minutes or hours, or can work with us regularly, every little helps and we’d love to hear from you.

Supporting Projects - We carry out a variety of projects which you could support through e.g. research on specific victim topics or on specific countries, interviews with experts or practitioners, identifying and collating best practices and much more.

Supporting Events and Conferences - VSE holds several events per year including conferences, workshops, and publicity campaigns. You help us make prepare and deliver these events, and make them a great success.

Spreading the Word - VSE uses a range of media tools to inform people about new developments. These need regular updating and you can support us find new media and news.

Developing IT to Support Victims - Web and mobile applications are increasingly being used to support victims around the world. We would like to develop apps to directly support victims and which local organisations can take on and adapt to their situation. If you have technical skills in this area we’d love to hear from you!

These are just some of the ways you can help us. We’re only a small office, but we have many ideas to help victims. If you want to be part of our mission to help millions of victims around Europe contact us today!

Join us as an Intern

In 2016, VSE will develop an internship programme for students currently studying at university (both undergraduates and post-graduates).

Our aim is to begin the programme in September 2016, having developed a more formal structure to ensure that interns are able to get the most from their internship and that VSE benefits from their skills, enthusiasm and knowledge.

We want to ensure that interns gain new knowledge of victims’ issues, develop new skills they may not gain from University studies and establish their own network of contacts for their future careers.

If you would be interested in an internship with VSE, please let us know and we will add you to our contact list for when the programme begins.
