About us
At WIZZ, we believe that affordable travel provides the opportunities that can change people and the world around us for the better. Wizz Air is one of the leading low-cost airlines in Europe and the largest in Central and Eastern Europe. Founded in 2004, Wizz Air carried more than 34 million passengers in 2018 and continues to grow, adding new countries, new destinations and new opportunities to travel. Wizz Air flies to 44 countries and counts on more than 4,500 enthusiastic aviation professionals from more than 50 countries – pilots, cabin crew, operations, administration, sales, marketing and communications for the company’s success.
Wizz Air has a young, single type Airbus fleet from the A320 family including A320s, A321neos. We have an order with Airbus for 110 new technology A321neo and 20 Airbus A321XLR aircraft with advanced systems and engines that will further reduce our industry-leading cost base as well as the company’s carbon footprint. All new deliveries are fitted with Sharklet wingtip devices.
Since our first flight in 2004, we have always operated the Airbus A320 family of aircraft and currently operate one of the youngest and most efficient fleets in Europe. One of the biggest ways we can reduce each customer’s environmental footprint is by ensuring that our aircraft fly with as many passengers on board as possible. In addition, we are continuously researching initiatives to reduce fuel consumption, making sure that we operate as environmentally friendly as possible.
