About JPA
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for international development? Are you interested in a three-year assignment at a dynamic, innovative, multi-cultural organization where you can help create a world free of poverty on a livable planet? If so, we invite you to explore our Junior Professional Associates (JPA) program.
As a JPA, you will use your strong analytical skills, research expertise, and technical knowledge to help us solve the world’s most pressing development challenges. In collaboration with talented professionals and project teams, you will support program activities across operational and corporate functions. The JPA program is an excellent opportunity for you to hone your skills, expand your knowledge, and support forward-looking solutions.

Who are we looking for?
The ideal JPA will have strong analytical and research capabilities in one or more of the following areas: Economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, and/or population studies), social sciences (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environmental studies (climate change, blue economy), infrastructure, private sector development, or in corporate and administrative functions, such as information technology, legal, accounting, communications, corporate procurement, and human resources.
What are the eligibility criteria?
To be eligible for the JPA program, you must:
- Be 32 years of age or younger
- Hold a bachelor’s degree
- Be fluent in English
The JPA program is highly competitive. Candidates who are being actively considered for positions may be required to present academic transcripts and professional references. Our Human Resources team will carefully evaluate applications and reach out to individuals selected for the interview process.

It is important to note that a JPA assignment does not guarantee continued employment at the World Bank Group. Following completion of the three-year JPA contract, candidates may apply for competitive term employment assignments with no cooling-off period.
