Organised by Fingertips Company Limited and sponsored by Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), the “Art on Climate” International Illustration Competition aims to raise awareness of effective strategies for combating climate change.

Details

Launched in Spain in 2019, the “Art on Climate” competition has grown into a global movement over the past six years. What began as a regional initiative now attracts thousands of artists worldwide, with the 2024 competition receiving over 3,000 artworks from over 2,400 illustrators in more than 100 locations. This year, the Competition continues its mission across the Asia-Pacific region, uniting professional artists and emerging talents to harness creativity in raising climate awareness and driving action.

With more than 20 years of leadership in sustainable investing, AllianzGI has placed sustainability at the heart of our mission and investment decisions. As one of the first 50 asset managers to sign the UN Principles for Responsible Investing (UN PRI) in 2007, we have deeply integrated sustainability into every facet of our business, from investments and active stewardship to operations. Through this commitment, we aim to create positive impact in the financial industry while generating enduring value for our clients and the wider community. We cordially invite everyone to join us in the “Art on Climate” competition to collaboratively shape a sustainable future.

Theme of the Competition: Climate Change

Participants are invited to submit original works on the theme of "climate change". Participants should draw inspiration from one or more of the following topics as a starting point of their artworks:

Statements:

  1. Empowering Communities for Climate Resilience
Climate change, one of the most critical challenges facing our planet, brings profound impacts across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions. To navigate its escalating risks, it is crucial to develop resilient communities capable of adapting to immediate threats. This approach also equips us to address the broader uncertainties, ensuring a sustainable future amidst a changing climate.
  2. Establishing Planetary Boundaries for Sustainable Living
To safeguard the stability and health of our planet, we must identify the environmental limits within which humanity can safely operate, ensuring minimal impact on biodiversity. Respecting these boundaries enables us to act responsibly, mitigating irreversible harm to ecosystems and avoiding unintended consequences in our efforts to combat climate change.
  3. Advancing Inclusive Capitalism for a Sustainable Future
Inclusive capitalism aims to build a just and sustainable society by balancing financial returns with social impact, encouraging businesses and investors to focus on long-term value creation, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility. As inclusion emerges as a critical focus following climate change, this approach demands innovative solutions to meet the expectations of younger generations.
