Overview
The 13th Annual IPSA-NUS Summer School for Social Science Research Methods will be held at the National University of Singapore from 1-12 July 2024. The summer school will offer 14 courses covering a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Quantitative research methods courses include Regression Analysis, Quantitative Text Analysis I & II, Research Design in Social Science, Data Visualization, Network Analysis, Causal Mediation Analysis, Experimental Methods, Introduction to Data Science, Panel Data Analysis, Survey Research, and Applied Data Analysis. Conversely, qualitative research method courses encompass Doing Ethnography, Archival Research, and Qualitative Data Analysis I & II.
While the summer school primarily operates on-site, certain courses are also offered online due to high demand from previous methods schools. Currently, the Qualitative Data Analysis course is available in both online and in-person formats.

The courses are scheduled for either 9:00 am-12:30 pm or 1:30-5:00 pm. Due to the rigor of the coursework, we recommend that participants do not take more than one course per week, and the discount for taking a second one-week course does not apply when morning and afternoon courses from the same week are combined.

Description of Ideal Candidate
English is the language of instruction for all Methods School courses. Although there are no prerequisite requirements for any students to exhibit English language proficiency, we highly recommend that students have at least some English language fluency to participate in class and learnt the class room materials.

Cost/funding for participants
Register for the summer school by 31 March 2024 to save up to SGD$200. Regular registration ends on 31 May 2024. On-site accommodations are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Financial assistance is available to students in need in the form of travel grants. However, the selection process for these grants is highly competitive. Preference is given to self-funded graduate students requiring specialized methodological skills for their dissertation research.
