2024 Track 1: Course-oriented Program

Students may select up two courses from the list. Medium of instruction is English for all courses. This year, we are offering 5 courses that are based on Education 4.0 courses/materials that are different from traditional courses in that the class time will consist of interactive activities and discussions instead of lectures.

Description of Education 4.0 Courses

The Process

No formal lectures. The professor in charge assigns the topic each week. The professor provides pre-recorded lectures and reference materials via Internet. Students learn by listening to pre-recorded lectures delivered by the KAIST Education 4.0 professors, from reference materials available on the Internet, and by performing simple experiments.

Students communicate with the Education 4.0 Consulting Professors in other countries through the Internet and Skype when they have questions on the lecture materials. Students consult with the local KAIST faculty when they have questions after listening the pre-recorded lectures. Students formally get together with the faculty advisor and fellow students once a week to review what they have done.

2024 Track 2: Individual Research Program

Individual Research Program is a 4-week research oriented program only students majoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields with our strategic partner universities. We provide the list of available laboratories for Track 2. Students will have the freedom to pick which department and lab they wish to join, and they are responsible for contacting the lab and getting approval from the professor. They are required to fill out the information about the confirmed lab after getting acceptance from the lab.
