This three-day event is aimed at university, secondary school students, and young professionals. It takes place each year in Autumn at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (EU). Our previous eleven conferences were attended by more than 1500 delegates from more than 40 countries and 4 continents. The MUNLawS presents a great opportunity to engage in diplomatic debates about current topics in the international community. Organised in the beautiful city of Ljubljana, the Conference is also an amazing occasion to build friendships and to enjoy our city’s lively social life.

As the global society is facing a plethora of challenges it is paramount to seek unity in addressing the needs of our time. By focusing on what unites us and by drawing inspiration from the invaluable richness of our diversity, we can achieve our goals - the time is now!
MUNLAWS Conference History
Established in 2013, MUNLawS is organised by the MUN Club at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. 10 conferences have been held at the faculty so far, and due to the course of the events, one online. The first conference hosted simulations of six different committees. So far, more than 1 000 delegates from over 40 countries of the world attended the conference, ultimately proving it is the leading university-level conference in the region.
Purpose
The conference is aimed at older high school and university students, as well as young professionals. Our mission is to offer our attendees an even broader range of interesting and motivating topics for discussion and to advance their knowledge on international law, international relations, diplomacy, and international security in the course of discussing topical issues of the international community. Every year, MUNLawS offers a unique chance to engage in diplomatic debates in a variety of different committees, each focusing on one of the current issues of the international community. Besides, with many distinguished keynote speakers, roundtables and social events, MUNLawS represents a unique MUN, offering an amazing occasion to build friendships, expand horizons and enjoy in the lively Ljubljana city centre.
MUNLAWS 2022 Conference Report
The 10th MUNLawS Model United Nations Conference, held between 11 and 13 November 2022 at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, was organised by the students and under the mentorship of Professor dr. Vasilka Sancin, Head of the Department of International Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana.
The conference started with an Opening Ceremony, where the participants were addressed by H.E. Mr Borut Pahor, the President of the Republic of Slovenia (video address), H.E. Mr Juraj Chmiel, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Slovenia, dr. Marko Rakovec, Director-General of the Department of International Law and Protection of Interests at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, and Ms Christa Allot, Executive Officer at the Court of Conciliation and Arbitration within the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe.
The simulations in 8 committees, 2 of them on high-school level, were held at the conference; Security Council, North Atlantic Council, Human Rights Council, INTERPOL and a "moot court" stimulation of the Court of Conciliation and Arbitration within the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

MUNLAWS APPLICATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
The MUNLawS Conference accepts university and older secondary school students as well as delegations! Delegations including less than 10 delegates may bring one observer/mentor. Delegations consisting of 10 or more delegates may bring two observers/mentors. Once the application is complete, payment instructions will be shown on the screen. Please be aware that applicants do not receive their committee and country allocations until the payment procedure is complete.

Only delegates whose application payment has been successfully executed are eligible to participate at the conference. MUNLawS team will send a confirmation e-mail with allocation to every delegate individually after the payment has been confirmed.
