Comgest is seeking motivated students studying corporate finance and financial markets to work as interns within our 5 equity investment teams. Internships begin in early January or July for a duration of 6 months.

The company’s investment philosophy combines a fundamental "stock picking" approach. Inspired by the traditional “GARP” investment style (growth at a reasonable price), Comgest is defined by our “quality growth” approach, uncorrelated nature of the markets, the search for lower volatility than benchmarks and high absolute returns over the long term.

General overview of responsibilities:

The aim of this internship is to experience the work of a Financial Analyst. You will work closely with our Analysts/Portfolio Managers from one of our 5 relevant teams and strategies: Europe, Global, Emerging Markets, Asia, or ESG to help optimize the performance of our pooled investment vehicles.

Within each team, in conjunction with the Analysts/Portfolio Managers, you will be in charge of various assignments such as:

  • Financial analysis of companies in the covered area (Europe, Global, Emerging Markets, Asia)
  • Valuation and financial modeling
  • Monitoring portfolios
  • Searching for investment opportunities
  • Participation in roadshows and creation of reports
  • Specific sector studies, updating portfolio monitoring tools, etc.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Profile

  • Student in final year of university (Master’s degree) or on a gap year
  • Prior experience in asset management considered a plus
  • Strong interest in financial markets, especially in economic and financial news
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, and if possible, some experience with Bloomberg and/or FactSet
  • Responsive, serious, adaptable, good interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit
  • Detail-oriented, capable of analysis and writing
  • Strong ability to work in a team, in an international environment
  • Fluent English is essential, both written and spoken
  • French and/or other language is a plus
