At EUFIC, we offer internship programmes within our different teams:

Food & Health Internship
We are looking for MSc students who wish to deepen their knowledge of science communication particularly inthe area ofFood& Health. An intern must be able tocommit to at least 6 months, andpreferably longer. Key responsibilities:We appreciate and encourage interns to be proactive and as much as possible own their own activities/projects, which can be:
- Active involvement in development, review, and promotion of different types of science-based content–textual and audio-visual –covering a wide range of food & health related topics including nutrition, lifestyle, food safety, food quality, food risk communication, and sustainability
- Desk research onscientific topics or events
- Assisting in organising meetings, conferences, presentations
- Database management and filing
- Supporting (senior)managers with EU-funded projects and other activities
Internship: Communication
We are looking for a long term (up to 6 months) communication student placement candidate. This is a great opportunity for a student to join a growing team and organisation in the process of extending its reach and visibility on topics related to food, health and sustainability. EUFIC is a high pace environment so you will be exposed to a high level of responsibility in a very motivated team, a perfect environment for learning.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Specific activities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Producing content & material for communication projects, including reporting
- Assisting with social media, EUFIC website updates and SEO
- Conducting online research mapping media outlets, updating media database and media monitoring reports
- Researching and writing press releases, articles, news for EUFIC website
- Assisting in communications with individuals, media, academia, etc.
- Assisting in event planning and organisations
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Collaborating with different departments in preparing specific projects
- Handing of administrative tasks as they arise
- Assisting in preparing internal documents (i.e.meeting minutes and other materials)
We are looking for MSc students willing to:
- take on the challenge of translating complex scientific findings into information that people can make sense and use of;
- deepen their knowledge, and gain hands-on experience in science communication.

The selection process
Every September and March, we offer placements to MSc students.
The application process opens way in advance, so please submit your CV and motivation letter to jobs@eufic.org within deadlines specified below. When sending your application, please state in the subject of your email which internship programme you are applying for: ‘Food and Health Internship’ or ‘Communications Internship’. For a start in:
- September: between 16th - 30th of April
- March: between 16th - 31st of October (previous year)
Only successful candidates will be notified of the outcome of the selection process and invited for a Skype interview. Those who pass the interview will then be invited to complete a written assignment. Candidates who successfully complete all steps of the recruitment process will be invited to work with us.

Food & Health Internship
Educational requirements, experience and skills
- currently enrolled in an MSc programmetowards a scientific degree focused on food safety, food science, nutrition, or a related area, with the option to pursue a placement during their studies
- strong and proven Englishwriting skills, another European languageisan advantage
- available for at least 6 months, but preferably longer (up to 12 months)
- an excellent communicator,with ability to translate scientific information into easy to understand language
- interested in and a passion for food & health communication
- can search for information, digest it, andsummarise succinctly
- proactive and well organised, capable of handling tasks alone
- good interpersonal skills
- eye for detail
- experienced with content management systems and web-based applications
- working knowledge of standard software packages (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Internship: Communication
Minimum requirements
We are looking for a master’s student to do their last-year student placement. Last year Bachelor’s students can also apply; a priority will be given to extraordinarily convincing candidates. Interns must be able to commit to at least 3 months, and preferably longer.

- creative and motivated to propose new ideas, and to question the status quo with confidence
- versatile and confident when communicating on all levels
- fluent in English, with strong written and oral communication skills; additional languages are plus
