Overview

The Centre Condorcet is a think tank seeking to design innovative, alternative ideas for the dominant political and economic paradigms in the European Union and the wider Europe, with the purpose to develop a new social consensus, in accordance with the needs and challenges of the 21st century. Its work is inspired by Enlightenment core values of reason and humanism. As at the end of the 18th century, Europe is faced with deep social and economic shifts which demand critical thinking, creativity and serendipity.

Details

The Centre Condorcet main activity is to serve as platform for the independent, tripartite high level groups on policy innovation, in various realms. It also contributes to the public debate through publications and events focussed on alignment of visions and interests and the Common Good. It is advised by leading academics.  

Job description

We seek an intern to assist the Centre’s team of research fellows and academic advisors in the following areas:

Financing transition to circular economy and climate neutrality; geopolitics, resilience and trade; neighbourhood policy; agriculture and food systems; forests and biomaterials; green tech and system innovation; energy systems; European governance.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Profile Required

  • Interest to pursue a career in research, think-tank or political expertise activities.
  • Master degree in political and/or economic science, international relations, or similar.
  • Experience in research, excellent analytical and synthetic skills. Any research-related academic or professional experience would be an asset.
  • Proven writing skills. Excellent (Oxford) English. French, German or other languages are an added-value.
  • Ability to work independently, entrepreneurial spirit, attentive listener.
  • Experienced user of Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, and PowerPoint.

Cost/funding for participants

We offer

A competitive package of remuneration for a 6 month contract (renewable), starting 1 September 2023.
