Project Aims:
Expedition Leadership & Safety
- Develop the ability to plan multi-day expeditions with an emphasis on risk assessment, safeguarding, and group management.
- Strengthen awareness of safety procedures, responsible equipment use, and strategies for decision-making in uncertain conditions.
Navigation & Logistics
- Build competence in practical expedition logistics, mobility, and resource planning.
- Apply navigation techniques with a focus on sustainable approaches and environmental respect.
Inclusive Outdoor Facilitation
- Explore methods to create inclusive and accessible outdoor learning spaces that foster trust, participation, and youth-centred learning.
- Practice group process facilitation, mindfulness, and reflective exercises that connect outdoor experiences to broader non-formal education goals.
Recognition & Dissemination
- Consolidate learning outcomes through tools such as Youthpass.
- Co-create resources and practices that can be shared beyond the training, ensuring the long-term impact of outdoor and expedition education in youth work.
