Overview
The Summer School of Slavonic Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University Olomouc (LŠSS FF UP) organizes courses of Czech language designated for teachers, lectors and students of Czech language and literature, Slavonic studies, translators, journalists, businessmen and applicants from the general public interested in Czech language, literature and culture. The programme comprises of courses for beginners (A0) as well as advanced learners (B2, C1).
Details
Courses of other Slavic languages such as Russian and Polish are offered too in case of interest.
Our students receive a certificate of their language level at the end of the course based on results from the final test. Students that do not pass the final test or do not attend the whole course obtain a confirmation of their participation at LŠSS FF UP.
Since 2018, our summer school course has been certified in the ECTS system and students who meet the given requirements are entitled to 8 ECTS credits back at their home university.
Programme
The course fee includes:
- intensive Czech language course – 100 contact lessons in total: 20 teaching days, 5 lessons per day (study groups of 14 students maximum)
- study materials (coursebooks according to the given language level)
- course of corrective pronunciation
- workshops (translation, conversation, writing, grammar)
- lectures and seminars (Czech language, literature, history and culture)
- complementary courses of Russian and Polish – each course 2 x 90 minutes weekly (these courses are opened for a minimum of 5 students)
- cultural programme and other activities
- weekend trips
- film club
- theatre workshop
- folklore evening with a traditional Moravian dulcimer band
- dance workshop: lessons in traditional Czech and Moravian folklore dances
- choir singing
- sport activities
