Welcome to the Barcelona International Summer School (BISS) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF).

Our flagship program enhances the academic experience of both local and international undergraduate students during the summer term. Choose from a diverse selection of credit-bearing courses offered in English or Spanish, within a dynamic international classroom setting. Our modules vary in duration and intensity, allowing for flexible combinations spanning one to four weeks.

BISS provides advanced training by leveraging UPF's academic expertise, with renowned faculty members sharing cutting-edge research with participants.

Details

Courses are credit-bearing (ECTS) and can be taken in English, Spanish or Catalan, in and international classroom environment. They are structured in modules of different duration and intensity, which can be flexibly combined in periods ranging from one to four weeks.

The BISS offers advanced training by building on UPF academic strengths, engaging leading faculty members to feature and share their current research with participating students.

Subjects have been conceived as an invitation to think and learn beyond and across disciplines, while approaching social and scientific challenges from content, methodological and practical perspectives. Independent research projects along these lines can be supervised by UPF scholars in the BISS summer term.

The BISS is one of the UPF Cross-disciplinary programs.

Student profile: local and international alike
The Barcelona International Summer School has been designed to satisfy the expectations of students with a good academic standing.
The program is open to all UPF undergraduate students and students from other universities who want to take advantage of the summer to advance in their studies and obtain credits.

Admission requirements:
