Overview

The Visegrad–Taiwan Scholarship Program is operated and financed jointly by the fund and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan.

The aim of the pro­gram is to facil­i­tate aca­d­e­mic exchanges by pro­vid­ing sup­port to PhD can­di­dates and post­doc­toral researchers from V4 coun­tries who intend to con­duct research in Taiwan. The rec­i­p­ro­cal part of the pro­gram sup­port­ing mobil­ity of Taiwanese researchers to the V4 region is oper­ated by the Taiwanese side.

Annexes to application form:

  1. copy of cer­ti­fied trans­la­tion of MA or last obtained diploma
  2. ver­i­fied con­fir­ma­tion of enroll­ment in PhD pro­gram issued by university/institution (on let­ter­head paper, stamped and signed by uni­ver­sity authority), or verified confirmation of research involvement issued by relevant V4 university/institution
  3. let­ter of accep­tance or equiv­a­lent doc­u­ment form the host university/institution no older than 3 months when applying
  4. work­ing plan accepted by host university/institution no older than 3 months when applying
  5. two let­ters of rec­om­men­da­tion (one from a super­vi­sor/head of research group)

Eligible applicants:

  • citizens of V4 countries with good knowledge of spoken and written English or Chinese
  • PhD level: applicants with MA or equivalent degree who are enrolled in the first 4 years of full-time PhD program in a V4 country
  • Postdoc level: applicants with PhD degree who conduct full-time research activities in V4 countries

Deadline: September 30, 2026

Cost/funding for participants

Study/research length + support:

  • Duration: from 1 up to 10 months
  • Funding: €1,000 per month, plus a one-time €1,000 travel grant
