Overview

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is the broadest and most inclusive among the many organized expressions of the modern ecumenical movement, a movement whose goal is Christian unity.

Details

A regionally and denominationally diverse group of young people join the WCC as interns each year in different programmatic areas of work. Apart from working in the projects interns are engaged in ecumenical formation sessions and exposure trips in order to help them to understand the wider ecumenical movement.

These internships bring input from young people into the life and work of the WCC and equip the young people to continue ecumenical work in their local contexts. Local and regional ecumenical work is strengthened as interns become multipliers and share their newly gained experience and insights back to their communities.

After finishing 12 months of internship in Geneva, the interns are requested to work with their own church in the local context for an additional six months internship sponsored by the sending church.
