In May 2011, Yousef Jameel, working with the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP), initiated the Yousef Jameel public leadership program, with the overall objective of building the capacity of young competent Egyptian nationals in the areas of public policy and public administration and preparing them for leadership roles in Egypt after the January 25 revolution.
The late Cynthia Nelson, professor of anthropology, founding member of the Cynthia Nelson Institute of Gender and Women Studies (IGWS) and former dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences joined AUC in 1963
The fellowships are designed to support Egyptian students with excellent academic records who are interested in pursuing full time graduate studies in the fields of economics and economics in international development, finance, MBA, political science or sustainable development at AUC
Arabic-language fellowships are offered to enrolled full-time international graduate students who need to take Arabic-language classes in order to satisfy their degree requirements at AUC and would like to enrol full time in the Arabic program of the Department of Arabic Language Instruction (fall, spring or summer).
