The Summer University in Romania has a long-standing tradition at CIFE, as it has been organised each summer for over 15 years now. The programme is organised in collaboration with the Nicolae Titulescu University and the Faculty of Law in Bucharest. The workshops are held on the university campus of the Titulescu University as well as within the premises of the Faculty of Law. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit famous sights in Romania, such as the Dracula Castle (Bran Castle) in the Prahova Valley.

Testimony:

In the summer of 2018, I participated in the Summer University of Romania/Bulgaria. It was a really enriching experience that I remember with pleasure. I especially appreciated the diversity of the program, composed not only of interventions on current themes but also of different cultural activities. In addition, the week went in a very good atmosphere. Thanks to the kindness of the teachers, organizers and partners and the international character of the group of students, I felt comfortable from the very first meal! This year, I will leave again with CIFE, this time in Slovenia. Maybe we'll meet there?

General information about CIFE's summer programmes

The summer courses welcome twenty to forty international students, on average. The working languages are French and English. The programmes consist of lectures, seminars, conferences and visits to various relevant institutions that help promote a better understanding of the political and cultural climate and the way of life in the respective host country. At the end of each programme participants may obtain ECTS credits. These summer courses are also an opportunity for our students to meet up with former participants from CIFE’s various programmes in their native countries.

Organisation

The summer programmes are of short duration, usually a week long, and take place over the summer months in various European countries. Their main objective is to allow students who have completed at least three years of university studies, researchers and young professionals to deepen their knowledge in the fields of European integration and international relations and to increase their understanding of the problems faced by modern society as a consequence of international developments. Topical themes are selected in close collaboration with partners in the host country.
