Overview

These scholarships are intended for a 2-year full-time study towards a Master’s degree in the United States. All fields of study are accepted except for any clinical fields which requires direct interaction with human subjects.

Details

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program (FFSP) is offered every year to qualified Jordanian students for higher study and research in the United States of America.  The program is fully funded by the Fulbright Commission in Jordan and is intended for two (2) years' full-time study, towards only a MASTER'S DEGREE in all fields of study except for any clinical fields which requires direct interaction with human subjects (such as medicine, veterinary science, and dentistry) and pursuing commercial, private, or remote (drone) pilot licenses.

Also, the Fulbright Commission cannot cover any master’s degree that requires a license as part of its program.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Applicants should meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship program:

  • Currently residing in Jordan; applicants must reside in Jordan starting from the application process and throughout the selection, placement and pre-departure processes.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education, with transcripts that demonstrate consistent academic performance suitable for graduate-level study in the U.S.
  • Potential applicants are expected to have a proven excellent command of English in order to carry-out high-level scholarly work.
  • Applicants should be representative and responsible citizens who can contribute to mutual understanding between the people of the United States and Jordan.
  • Applicants should demonstrate the cross-cultural sensitivity and flexibility needed to adjust successfully to life in the United States.
  • Preference will be given to interested applicants, who meet the above eligibility requirements in the fields of Fine Arts; Humanities; and Social Sciences.

For MBA applicants only:

  • MBA applicants MUST have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional, work experience after the last university degree.
  • MBA applicants should submit a GMAT score report instead of the GRE.

Who is ineligible to apply for this competition?

  • Persons applying for or holding permanent residence (Green Card) in the United States are not eligible.
  • Persons who are citizens of both Jordan and the United States are also not eligible.

The following exams should be taken, and the scores should be included in the online application:

  1. An English proficiency exam
    The applicant needs to take the TOEFL – iBT (Internet-based test) Exam to determine their English proficiency.
  2. Graduate level exam
  • All applicants are required to take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam).
  • Anyone applying for a Master’s in Business (MBA) is required to take the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) instead of the GRE.
